Background Story of Our Buddhist Craft Initiative

In my journey of Dharma practice, I often found myself seeking deeper meaning and practices. One day asked my Buddhist teacher Gen Namgyel-la: "What dharma practice shall I focus on during this lifetime please?"

Teacher Gen Namgyel-la advised: "Create Medicine Buddha Tsa Tsa (plaster statue) and share them with those who are interested." This guidance resonated within me, igniting a passion to connect with others through the art of creation and the teachings of Buddhism.

Inspired, I enlisted the help of two friends. Together, we set out to gather the necessary materials, including molds and ingredients suitable for crafting the statues. After trials and experimentation, we found a blend that would allow us to create beautiful plaster Tsa Tsa.

To share this practice and foster community, we initiated workshops on Wednesday nights and very occasionally on other days. We welcome all who wish to join. Participants not only learn the craft of statue making but also engage in meaningful conversations about Buddhism, mindfulness.

Through these workshops, we hope to build bridges, inspire curiosity, and invite others to explore the profound wisdom of Buddhism.

Our Teacher Gen Namgyel-la

In addition to meditation, Gen Namgyel-la has a deep understanding of the Lam Rim (Tibetan: Lam Rim), a classic text of Tibetan Buddhism that systematically introduces all the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, guiding us in understanding and realizing the Buddhist path.

Fion is one of Venerable Namgyel's students in Hong Kong, eager to share her teacher's guidance on the path of enlightenment.
