The Medicine Buddha, known as Bhaiṣajyaguru, is a significant figure in Mahayana Buddhism, revered for the healing abilities and compassionate nature. Depicted in a meditative posture, the Medicine Buddha holds a healing arura plant in his right hand to symbolize his ability to heal physical and mental sicknesses by destroying the three inner poisons of hatred, attachment, and ignorance, which are the root of all suffering. The plant's symbolic significance lies in its reputation as a universal cure and its connection to the ancient, holistic system of Tibetan medicine. His left hand holds a bowl of medicinal nectar.
